St. Cloud (MN) Chensy Young went 4-4 and Marcos Calderon and David Kerian had two hits each to pace a 12-2 Waterloo Bucks’ win over the St. Cloud Rox on Saturday night. Waterloo completes a two-game series sweep on the road for the first time this season and finish the first 10 game stretch of the season 6-4.<\/p>\n
The key to the game was an eight run sixth inning that saw the Bucks’ send 14 batters up and 11 reaching base.<\/p>\n
Eric Stout picked up the win on the mound throwing six innings and allowing only a single earned run. Combined, Stout and relievers Kevin Needham and Tyler Foote struck out nine St. Cloud batters. Over the two game series, Bucks’ pitchers had 19 strikeouts.<\/p>\n
Waterloo lead 3-0 after the first innings thanks to a RBI single from Young, an error and another RBI base hit from Kyle Pollock.<\/p>\n
In the third inning, a two-out passed ball allowed Young to score from third base and give Waterloo a 4-0 margin. Then in the sixth inning the Bucks put the game away, highlighted by RBI doubles from Gerrion Grim and Kerian.<\/p>\n
St. Cloud scored a run in the sixth and eighth but never made the Bucks’ sweat after the six inning explosion.<\/p>\n
Waterloo finished the game with a season high in runs (12) and hits (13).<\/p>\n
