This week in Catching Up With the Bucks, we are looking at former Buck Curtis Thigpen.  <\/span>The Dallas native played for the Bucks during the 2002 season while attending the University of Texas.<\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Thigpen played both catcher and third basemen in his time with Waterloo. Thigpen hit .215 with 3 doubles, 4 RBI’s, and 7 walks in 20 games.  <\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\n

After the Bucks, Thigpen got drafted in the 2nd<\/sup> round in the 2004 MLB Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays.  <\/span>In his first year in the minor leagues, he played single A ball for the Auburn Doubledays and Lansing Lugnuts.<\/p>\n

He continued to rise through the system until he made his debut with the Blue Jays on June 6, 2007.  <\/span>He played 47 games for the Jays that season while splitting time between the majors and triple A Syracuse Chiefs.  <\/span>During his time in Toronto, Thigpen hit .238 with five doubles, 11 RBI, and 13 runs scored in his 47 games with the team.  <\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\n

In 2008, Thigpen would play his second and last season for the Blue Jays.  <\/span>He batted .176, with one home run, and two runs scored in 10 games.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Overall, he had very strong statistics during his time in the minor league system.  <\/span>He possessed a career batting average of .266 with 96 doubles, 9 triples, 28 home runs, 185 RBI, and 14 stolen bases.  <\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\n
