{"id":20337,"date":"2026-09-03T00:15:36","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T05:15:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/waterloo-bucks\/?p=20337"},"modified":"2026-08-31T16:43:48","modified_gmt":"2026-08-31T21:43:48","slug":"riverfront-stadium-to-host-september-12th-football-watch-party","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/waterloo-bucks\/2026\/09\/03\/riverfront-stadium-to-host-september-12th-football-watch-party\/","title":{"rendered":"Riverfront Stadium to Host September 12th Football Watch Party"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Waterloo, IA \u2013 The Waterloo Bucks have announced they will host a football watch party on their 474-square-foot LED video board in September.\u00a0 On Saturday, September 12, the annual Cy-Hawk game between the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Iowa State Cyclones kicks off at 6:30 pm.<\/p>\n<p>Gates at Riverfront Stadium will open at 6:00 pm.\u00a0 There will be free admission, and fans are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair and sit on the field to watch the games.\u00a0 No outside food or drink will be allowed, as the concessions stands will be open.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"># # #<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>The Bucks recently wrapped up their 2026 campaign and 32<sup>nd<\/sup> season of NWL baseball with attendance increasing by 195 per game.\u00a0 Fans are encouraged to shop their online store at <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/waterloo-bucks-llc.square.site\/\"><em>https:\/\/waterloo-bucks-llc.square.site\/<\/em><\/a><em> during the offseason.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>The Waterloo Bucks are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. The Northwoods League is the proven leader in the development of elite college baseball players. Recently finishing its\u2019 33<sup>rd<\/sup> season, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in history with 26 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires, and front office staff, nearly 2400 NWL alums have been drafted and over 400 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including three-time All-Star and 2016 Roberto Clemente Award winner Curtis Granderson, three-time Cy Young Award winner and World Series Champion Max Scherzer (TOR), two-time World Series Champions Ben Zobrist and Brandon Crawford and World Series Champion Chris Sale (ATL). As well as 2019 Rookie of the Year and 2019\/2021 Home Run Derby Champion Pete Alonso (BAL) and 2023 World Series Champion, MLB All-Star, MLB Gold Glove, two-time Silver Slugger winner and two-time All-MLB first team shortstop Marcus Semien (TEX).
