{"id":2214,"date":"2014-01-13T16:45:54","date_gmt":"2014-01-13T16:45:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/waterloo-bucks\/?p=2214"},"modified":"2014-01-13T16:45:54","modified_gmt":"2014-01-13T16:45:54","slug":"bucks-add-haskovec-to-front-office","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/waterloo-bucks\/2014\/01\/13\/bucks-add-haskovec-to-front-office\/","title":{"rendered":"Bucks Add Haskovec to Front Office"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\tWaterloo, IA &ndash; The Waterloo Bucks have announced the hiring of Jay Haskovec as the team&rsquo;s new Director of Sales and Marketing.&nbsp; Haskovec (pronounced HASK-o-vek) will join General Manager Dan Corbin and Assistant General Manager Clayton Grandquist in the front office for the 20<sup>th<\/sup> season of Bucks Baseball.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tDuring the summer of 2012, Haskovec worked with the Bucks as a Stadium Operations intern.&nbsp; With the team, Haskovec handled stadium set-up and teardown on a daily basis, helped maintain stadium policies on customer service, and assisted in leading part-time staff.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tHaskovec recently graduated from the University of Iowa where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Leisure Studies-Recreation and Sports Business.&nbsp; While at UI, Haskovec was a marketing intern for the Cedar Rapids Titans and a concessions manager for University of Iowa Recreational Services.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&ldquo;I am excited to join the Bucks organization,&rdquo; said Haskovec.&nbsp; &ldquo;I hope to help the Bucks continually produce affordable family entertainment in the Cedar Valley and I look forward to interacting with our fans and partners.&rdquo;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&ldquo;We are very happy to have Jay join our team,&rdquo; said Corbin.&nbsp; &ldquo;He will be a great addition to our front office and his familiarity with the Bucks is extremely valuable.&rdquo;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Bucks will open the 2014 season on the road versus the Rochester Honkers on May 27, but return to Waterloo for their home opener versus Rochester on May 28.&nbsp; Season tickets and group outings are currently on sale.&nbsp; For more information, call the Bucks&rsquo; Ticket Line at (319) 232-5633.&nbsp; Fans are encouraged to stay in touch with the Bucks in the off-season by utilizing their website at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.waterloobucks.com\/\">www.waterloobucks.com<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Waterloo Bucks are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Playing its 21<sup>st<\/sup> season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 115 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including MLB All-Stars Max Scherzer (DET), Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYY), Allen Craig (STL) and Ben Zobrist (TB).
