\n\tWaterloo, Iowa – The Waterloo Bucks have announced that right-handed pitcher Mario Leon has signed to play with Waterloo for the 2014 season.  Leon,\"leon-mario\"<\/a> a freshman at Florida Gulf Coast University, is the 16th<\/sup> player to be named to the Bucks’ roster for the team’s 20th<\/sup> season.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThis season for the Eagles, Leon is 1-1 with a 1.69 ERA in three appearances.  The 6’1”, 187-pounder has struck out three in 5.1 innings pitched and is holding opponents to a .200 average.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t“I am looking forward to becoming a part of this organization,” said the Naples, Florida native.  “I’ve heard nothing but great things.”\n<\/p>\n

\n\t“Mario is an exceptional pitcher,” Bucks general manager Dan Corbin said.  “He’s a young talent that we expect to contribute in our bullpen, and possible in our starting rotation.  We look at his addition to the roster as helping our team as a whole and he’ll be a key part in helping us return to the playoffs.”\n<\/p>\n

\n\tBorn July 29, 1995, Leon attended Gulf Coast High School where he was named to the All-Conference team during the 2011, 2012, and 2013 seasons.  Mario is the son of Carlos and Martha Leon.\n<\/p>\n
