\n\tWaterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks have announced that right-handed pitcher Keegan Long has signed to play with the team for the 2015 season.  Long, \"Keegan<\/a>a junior at St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana, is the 13th<\/sup> player to be named to Waterloo’s roster for the squad’s 21st<\/sup> season.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tLong appeared in eight games last season for the Pumas, striking out 20 in 26.1 innings pitched.  The 6’2”, 187-pounder finished the year with a 0-4 record and a 7.18 ERA, making four starts along the way.  St. Joseph’s will begin their 2015 season on February 28 versus the University of Minnesota-Duluth.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t“Keegan is a Division II pitcher who we feel will come in and be able to compete for a starting spot in our rotation,” said Bucks general manager Dan Corbin.  “He has a solid fastball and the Major League Baseball Draft might be calling his name at the end of his collegiate season.”\n<\/p>\n

\n\tLast summer, Long played for the Front Royal Cardinals in the Valley League where he led the league in ERA with a 1.61 ERA.  A native of Edon, Ohio, Long finished the season with a 4-2 record and 41 strikeouts in 11 appearances and 44.2 innings.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tBorn August 27, 1993, Long attended Edon High School where he was named his conference’s Player of the Year as a senior.  Keegan is the son of Todd and Kathy Long.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Bucks, the winningest team in all of summer-collegiate baseball over the past two years, will open the 2015 season on the road versus the Alexandria Blue Anchors on May 26, but return to Waterloo for their home opener versus the Mankato MoonDogs on May 28.  Fans are encouraged to stay in touch with the Bucks in the off-season by utilizing their website at www.waterloobucks.com<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n
