\n\tWaterloo, Iowa – The Waterloo Bucks have announced that Matt Gruemmer has been hired as the Bucks’ radio announcer for the 2015 season.  Gruemmer \"gruemmer-matt\"<\/a>replaces Scott Montesano who has taken a position with the Traverse City Beach Bums of the Frontier League as the team’s Director of Media & Broadcasting.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tGruemmer comes to Waterloo after a summer with the Cedar Rapids Kernels in 2014 as the team’s Radio and Media Relations Intern.  Currently a senior at Wartburg College, Gruemmer will graduate on May 24 with a degree in Journalism & Communication.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t“I am extremely thankful for the opportunity to work with a class organization in the Waterloo Bucks this upcoming season,” said Gruemmer.  “The Cedar Rapids Ball Club ownership group and Bucks front office staff have been very welcoming in my transition from college, and I'm looking forward to being a part of the great baseball environment they have created.  Earning a career in baseball has been a goal of mine since I was a child, and I'm excited to begin my journey with the Bucks in 2015."\n<\/p>\n

\n\tGruemmer has experience with Wartburg athletics as a broadcaster for Wartburg Knight Vision since 2013.  Acting as both a play-by-play broadcaster and a color commentator, Gruemmer has conducted in-game interviews and prepared game notes for broadcasts.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t“Matt is an up-and-coming talent in the broadcast world and we’re excited to have him on board for the 2015 season,” said Bucks General Manager Dan Corbin.  “After a successful internship with the Kernels, Matt came highly recommended.  I can’t wait to tune in to 1650 The Fan and online at waterloobucks.com this summer to hear Matt showcase our team.”\n<\/p>\n

\n\tRecently, the Bucks announced that multiple regular season games will be aired on 1650 The Fan along with all 72 contests being streamed online through www.waterloobucks.com.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Bucks, the winningest team in all of summer-collegiate baseball over the past two years, will open the 2015 season on the road versus the Alexandria Blue Anchors on May 26, but return to Waterloo for their home opener versus the Mankato MoonDogs on May 28.  Fans are encouraged to stay in touch with the Bucks in the off-season by utilizing their website at www.waterloobucks.com<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n

Playing its 22nd <\/sup>season of summer collegiate baseball in 2015, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 120 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Allen Craig (BOS) and Ben Zobrist (OAK).
