{"id":5435,"date":"2016-05-24T18:45:37","date_gmt":"2016-05-24T18:45:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/waterloo-bucks\/?p=5435"},"modified":"2016-05-24T18:45:37","modified_gmt":"2016-05-24T18:45:37","slug":"bucks-to-hold-open-house-on-memorial-day-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/waterloo-bucks\/2016\/05\/24\/bucks-to-hold-open-house-on-memorial-day-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Bucks to Hold Open House on Memorial Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\tWaterloo, Iowa &ndash; The Waterloo Bucks have announced they will hold an Open House on Monday, May 30 at 7:05 pm.&nbsp; Gates will open at 6:00 pm at Riverfront Stadium.&nbsp; The open house will feature an intra-squad scrimmage which will allow fans to get a preview of the 2016 Bucks squad.&nbsp; Fans will be allowed to go onto the field after the scrimmage to run the bases and receive autographs from players and coaches.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAdmission will be free for this Memorial Day event.&nbsp; The Bucks open the regular season on Tuesday, May 31 at 7:05 pm versus the St. Cloud Rox at Riverfront Stadium.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Bucks play at Riverfront Stadium where the team welcomed a new state of the art video board in 2016 thanks to a matching grant from the Black Hawk County Gaming Association.&nbsp; Team ownership has invested more than $170,000 in improvements since the end of the 2014 season including painted bleachers, public Wi-Fi, sound system, group outing areas, and concessions equipment.&nbsp; Season tickets, individual game tickets, and group outings are currently on sale by calling the Bucks&rsquo; Ticket Line at (319) 232-5633.&nbsp; Fans are encouraged to stay in touch during the off-season with the Bucks by utilizing their website at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.waterloobucks.com\/\">www.waterloobucks.com<\/a> or utilizing the Waterloo Bucks app.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\n\t# # #\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<em>The Waterloo Bucks are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Playing its 23rd season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, 150 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (DET), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Lucas Duda (NYM) and Ben Zobrist (CHC).
