\n\tWATERLOO, Iowa <\/strong>– <\/strong>On Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Night at Riverfront Stadium, the Waterloo Bucks avoided the sweep with a 3-0 shutout over the Lakeshore Chinooks. Jordan Accetta, Zach Siggelkow, and Brandon Downey combined for two-hit, 3-0 shutout, in the finale of a four-game homestand.\n<\/p>\n\n\tAccetta (1-0) retired the first eight hitters he faced and yielded just two hits and a walk while striking out four over five scoreless frames in his Bucks debut. Siggelkow (1) recorded his first hold of the year with his second straight 1-2-3 inning in as many days while Downey (2) extended his consecutive scoreless innings streak to six with his second two-inning save of the season. Downey has also now retired 20 of the 23 hitters he’s faced this season.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tDaniel Perry, Colin Kreiter and Taylor Boyd each recorded a double in the win while Tyler Curtis drove in two of the three Bucks runs.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tWaterloo (1-0) jumped in front with a run in the bottom of the first. Perry recorded the first hit of the night with a double to left-center before Curtis brought him in with an RBI grounder to short.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Bucks doubled their lead with another run in the fifth. Kreiter led off the frame with a double to left-center. Two batters later, Jake Hand made it 2-0 with an RBI single to right-center, scoring Kreiter from second.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tWaterloo added their final run in the seventh. Zac Sanders drew a leadoff walk to open the inning before moving up 90-feet on a wild pitch. After a Perry walk and a Boyd hit by pitch loaded the bases, Curtis drew a bases loaded walk, making it 3-0.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tAlex Rogers (0-1) suffered the loss for Lakeshore (2-2) in his season debut. Rogers yielded two runs on five hits while striking out two in 5 1\/3 innings of work.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Bucks begin a three-game road trip tomorrow in Wisconsin against the reigning Northwood League Champion Kenosha Kingfish. First pitch in the series opener is at 6:05 p.m. RHP Steven Baker (0-0, 0.00) makes his season debut for Waterloo while Kenosha counters with RHP Derek Heffe(0-0, 0.00).\n<\/p>\n
\n\tWaterloo returns home Tuesday, June 7 for the start of a three-game homestand. The Bucks open the homestand with one game against Rochester before taking on Duluth in a two-game set for the first time in 2016.\n<\/p>\n
