\n\tWATERLOO, Iowa. <\/b>– <\/b>Waterloo saw its seven-game winning streak come to an end on Sunday afternoon, as the Kenosha Kingfish sank the Bucks, 11-3, in the series opener from Riverfront Stadium. The win for Kenosha snapped their seven-game losing streak, and was their first win since beating the Bucks, 2-1, in five innings on June 4th. \n<\/p>\n
\n\tBrendon Allen (1-0) recorded his first of the season with seven strong innings. Allen set the Bucks down in order four times on the afternoon and allowed just one run on four hits, striking out five and walking one.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tKenosha (5-8) never trailed on the day and eight of their nine starters either scored at least one or drove in at least one run. \u200b\n<\/p>\n
\n\tA Pete Schuler RBI single followed by back-to-back RBI doubles from Gunnar McNeil and Cal Judacki in the first put Waterloo behind 3-0.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tWaterloo (10-3) cut the Kingfish lead to two with a run of their own in the bottom of the first. Alex Boxwell recorded a hustle-double down the left field line in his first plate appearance of the season before Robert Neustrom brought him in with an RBI single to center, making it 3-1.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tBoth teams followed one another with three consecutive scoreless innings before Kenosha tacked on an additional three runs in the fifth. Marty Bechina’s RBI fielder’s choice made it 4-1 before back-to-back RBI singles by McNeil and Judacki increased the Kingfish lead to five.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tA Bechina sacrifice fly in the sixth made it 7-1 before McNeil was hit in the foot with the bases loaded, extending Kenosha’s lead to seven. An RBI single by Bechina followed by Schuler getting hit in the shoulder with the bases loaded in the seventh made it 10-1. Matt Hearn’s two-out RBI single was the final Kingfish run, putting Kenosha in front, 11-1.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tWaterloo cut Kenosha’s lead to eight with two runs in the ninth. Boxwell recorded his second hit of the game with a leadoff single to right before swiping second. Curtis then drew a walk before McGinnis brought around Boxwell from second with an RBI single to left. Zach Weatherford plated the final run of the game with an RBI single through the legs of reliever JR Holloway into center field, scoring Curtis.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tBrett Solano (1-1) was charged with the loss in his third start of the year. Solano allowed a season-high six runs (five earned) on a season-high 10 hits, striking out three and walking one in five innings.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Bucks continue their three-game homestand on Monday, June 13 against the Kingfish. RHP Jordan Accetta (2-0, 2.08) gets the ball for Waterloo in the series finale while LHP Alex Hamilton (0-0, 1.12) counters for Kenosha.\n<\/p>\n
