\n\tMANKATO, Minn. <\/strong>– <\/strong>Waterloo fell to the Mankato Moondogs, 4-3, in the series finale on Bryce Adams’ two-out walk-off single in bottom of the 17th inning on Sunday. Sunday’s game was the second longest played by the Bucks this season at five hours and 41 minutes.\n<\/p>\n\n\tDavid Metzgar started the bottom of the 17th with a single to center before moving to second on Jake Shepski’s groundout. The Bucks then intentionally walked Alvaro Rubalcaba, giving Mankato runners on first and second. Bryce Adams followed with a two-out walk-off single to left, bringing home Metzgar for the win.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tFor the second straight night Waterloo took an early lead with a two-out run. Luke Barry ended Reece Eddins’ perfect game bid with a bunt single up the third baseline. A throwing error on the play by third baseman Eric Peterson allowed Barry to move up to second. Alex Boxwell advanced Barry to third with a groundout to second before Lane Milligan brought home Barry with an RBI single back through the middle.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tTwo errors in the bottom of the sixth allowed Mankato to score their first run, tying the game at 1-1. Gavin Wehby reached second on a two-base fielding error to start the frame before Metzgar grounded out, moving Wehby up to third. The second Waterloo error of the inning allowed Jordan Washam to reach with two outs, bringing in Wehby from third.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tWaterloo (9-14, 31-27) regained the lead with a run in the top of the 15th. Justin Beck started the 15th with a double to left-center before Adam McGinnis delivered an RBI single to center, bringing around Beck from second.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tMankato (14-8, 36-21) tied the game at 2-2 with a run of their own in the bottom of the 15th. Drew Fearing led off the inning with a single to left before Wehby moved him up to second with a groundout to the right side. Metzgar followed with an RBI double down the left field line, bringing Fearing home from second.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Bucks went back in front with another run in the top of the 16th. Singles from Milligan and Beck gave Waterloo runners on the corners before McGinnis was intentionally walked to load the bases. Travon Benton followed with a bases-loaded walk, putting Waterloo in front, 3-2.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tMankato evened the score with another run in the bottom of the 16th. Back-to-back singles from Washam and Adams to start the frame gave runners on first and second. Eric Peterson advanced both runners with a sacrifice bunt before Alex Tucker tied the game back at 3-3.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tDaniel Agramont (0-3) was charged with the loss. The right-hander allowed two runs on three hits while striking out two in 1 2\/3 innings.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tBrett Newberg (2-0) recorded the win in relief. The southpaw allowed one run on three hits, walking two and striking out three in 2 1\/3 innings.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tBryce Reichmann yielded an unearned run in a season-high 5 2\/3 innings in a no-decision. The southpaw allowed just five hits, walking none and striking out a season-high four.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tReece Eddins was just as good in a no-decision for Mankato. The right-hander went a season-high eight innings, allowing an unearned run on six hits while walking none and struck out seven.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tWaterloo begins a day-night doubleheader on Monday vs. the La Crosse Loggers. First pitch from Copeland Park in the series opener is at 11:05 a.m. with RHP Jonathan Buckley (1-1, 0.78) opposing LHP Mark Nowaczewski (3-3, 4.43).\n<\/p>\n
\n\tWaterloo returns on Monday for the finale of a day-night doubleheader vs. the La Crosse Loggers.
