\n\tWATERLOO, IOWA- The Waterloo Bucks (1-1) couldn't overcome four errors as the St. Cloud Rox manage to split the two game set with an 8-2 decision on Wednesday (May 31).\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Rox got off to another hot start in the top of the first inning on an RBI fielder’s choice by Matt Warkentin. The very next batter, Ricardo Sanchez lifted a fly ball left field that Colin Kreiter couldn’t handle in left field bringing across the second run of the inning establishing an early 2-0 lead.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tWaterloo answered in the bottom of the second inning as a wild pitch scored Drew Greenwood to cut the lead in half 2-1.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe turning point of the game came in the top of the fourth inning when Matt Tarantino and Eric Feliz delivered back-to-back RBI singles. Up next was Warkentin who sent a fly ball to center field and he ended up at third base adding two more runs. The Rox weren’t done yet as Sanchez poked a single to right allowing Warkentin to score. After all the damage, St. Cloud owned a 7-1 advantage.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tHunter Spencer (0-1) started for Waterloo and surrendered the seven runs (only two earned) through four innings of work with three strikeouts.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tColby Carmichael relieved Spencer and pitched three scoreless innings with three strikeouts.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Rox tacked on another insurance run in the top of the eighth inning extending their lead to 8-1.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tIn the bottom of the ninth, Colin Kreiter blasted the first Bucks home run of the 2017 season and the first long ball at Riverfront Stadium this year over the right field fence. The solo shot was off of Bailey Hansen who tossed three innings of relief after Ryan Shreve (1-0) started the game by going five innings, only gave up three hits, walked four batters and struck out three.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Bucks welcome the Duluth Huskies (2-0) to town tomorrow, Thursday (June 1) at 6:35 for Throwback Thursday presented by Miller High Life in 2017!
