\n\tWATERLOO, IOWA- The Waterloo Bucks (29-17) put up a season high 18 runs while picking up win number 800 in franchise history during a 18-4 victory of the Rochester Honkers (22-22) on Friday, July 14. The Bucks overall franchise record is 800-729 and they are second in Northwoods League franchise wins.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Bucks struck first on an RBI double to the gap by Deion Thompson in the bottom of the second inning but just as they have done all season, the Honkers answered right back in the next half inning on a two-run double down the left field line by Ryan Fitzpatrick. Kenyon Yovan followed it up with a two-run single to left center making it a 4-1 Rochester advantage goign to the bottom of the third.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tWaterloo was ready to unload 17 unanswered runs starting with an RBI double to right by Zach Malis and an RBI groundout by Charlie Concannon. The turning point occurred with two outs in the bottom of the third on an errant flip to second base on an attempted force out and Joe Genord had heads up base running to score all the way from second to tie the game 4-4. Deion Thompson, the very next batter blasted a three run homer to right center giving the Bucks a 7-4 lead after three innings.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tZachary McLeod (1-1) in his second start of the season struck out four over five and a third innings. Beau O'Hara (2-2) got his second loss of the season at the hands of the Bucks in a three inning, seven hit and three earned run performance.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe score remained that way until two Buck runs were pushed across in the bottom of the sixth but Grant Hawkins' two-run single to left center made it 11-4 Bucks after seven innings. Waterloo was not even close to being done as seven runs came across in the bottom of the eighth highlighted by a Genord two-run double, Greenwood RBI double, Hawkins RBI double and a sac-fly for one of Malis' three RBIs tonight.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tAfter the 18-4 blowout win, the Bucks make one last road trip before the All-Star break to Franklin Rogers Park in Mankato for a 6:05 p.m. first pitch against the MoonDogs tomorrow, July 15.\n<\/p>\n
