\n\tLA CROSSE, Wis.- The La Crosse Loggers (31-38) scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to edge the Waterloo Bucks (37-33) 5-4 to split the season series.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tIn the bottom of the third, David Villar brought across the first run of the game on an RBI sacrifice fly to right field.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tDeion Thompson answered with a game-tying solo homer to right field in the top of the fifth inning. The score stayed that way until pinch hitter Drew Greenwood drilled a solo shot of his own over the right field wall handing the Bucks a 2-1 lead in the top of the seventh.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Bucks added two more runs in the top of the eighth inning on a Jake Viaene RBI double to the left center gap. Later in the frame, Viaene scored on a fielding error by Villar at third making 4-1 Bucks heading to the bottom of the eighth.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe lead did not last long as the Loggers quickly loaded up the bases against Bucks reliever Carlisle Koestler (0-3) and then Jorge Gutierrez sent a base knock to right field scoring two runs easily but the throw home bounced off of the foot of Kennie Taylor after his slide allowing Villar to score the game-tying run. Garrett Christman was intentionally walked and then Andrew Tanous punched the go-ahead RBI single to right field putting the Loggers back in front 5-4.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tGrant Ford (2-1) stayed in the game late for La Crosse and struck out the side in the top of the ninth to finish off the Bucks.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tWaterloo returns home to Riverfront Stadium tomorrow, August 12 at 6:35 p.m. against the Duluth Huskies in the first of a two-game series.\n<\/p>\n
