\n\tWATERLOO, IOWA- The Waterloo Bucks (38-33) put on an offensive clinic in a 17-2 demolishing of the Duluth Huskies (31-40) to stay alive in the North Division playoff race.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tZach Malis started the scoring outburst in the bottom of the first inning with an RBI single, he later scored when Dalton Hurd was caught in a rundown on a wild throw to right field. Staying hot at the plate, Jackson Goplen smoked a two-run double down the third base line and Drew Greenwood capped off first inning with a two-run homer over the left field wall. One inning of work is all that the Huskies starting pitcher Ian Cassidy (0-3) would see.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Bucks were not satisfied with the early 6-0 advantage as Jay Schuyler delivered a two-run single in the bottom of the second, along with an RBI single from Deion Thompson making it 9-0 Bucks after 2 innings. A Duluth error followed by a bases loaded walk to Malis and another RBI base hit by Schuyler as Waterloo took an even more commanding lead of 12-0.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tRyan Dunne (2-2) was maginificent in a starting role again for the Bucks tossing six scoreless innings with nine strikeouts while only allowing three hits.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Huskies pushed across two runs in the top of the seventh but Waterloo answered with a five-spot in the bottom half of the inning highlighted by a pair of single from Nolan Friedrichs and Jake Viaene.\n<\/p>\n
\n\t21 hits is the second most hits in a single game in Waterloo Bucks franchise history.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Bucks close out the regular season against the Duluth Huskies tomorrow, August 13 at 2:05 p.m. from Riverfront Stadium.\n<\/p>\n
