{"id":8287,"date":"2018-11-07T15:27:35","date_gmt":"2018-11-07T15:27:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/waterloo-bucks\/?p=8287"},"modified":"2019-09-10T16:53:26","modified_gmt":"2019-09-10T16:53:26","slug":"bucks-release-2018-community-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/waterloo-bucks\/2018\/11\/07\/bucks-release-2018-community-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Bucks Release 2018 Community Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Waterloo, Iowa \u2013 The Waterloo Bucks have released their inaugural Community Report showcasing how the organization supported the Cedar Valley in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The 12-page report highlights the work inside and outside of Cost Cutters Field at Riverfront Stadium throughout the calendar year.\u00a0 Through the \u201cOur Bucks\u201d community program, the Bucks raised over $13,500 in charitable donations including both in-stadium and in-kind donations.\u00a0 Other community efforts saw the Bucks collecting over 3,300 pounds of food for the Northeast Iowa Food Bank through the inaugural year of the Step Up to the Plates initiative.\u00a0 This was the third year of the Bucks Summer Reading Program which promoted the importance of reading to 38 elementary schools in Eastern Iowa.\u00a0 The Catch With A Cop and the Share The Glove program were two new initiatives started by the Bucks in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The entire 2018 Waterloo Bucks Community Report can be viewed by visiting <a href=\"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/waterloo-bucks\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2018\/11\/2018-Bucks-Community-Report.pdf\">www.waterloobucks.com<\/a> and clicking on the 2018 Bucks Community Report tab from the Community drop down link.\u00a0 Or download the <a href=\"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/waterloo-bucks\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2018\/11\/2018-Bucks-Community-Report.pdf\">2018 Bucks Community Report by clicking here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>All Bucks home games are played at Cost Cutters Field at Riverfront Stadium which will host the 2019 Northwoods League All-Star Game.\u00a0 The ballpark welcomed a new state of the art video board in 2016 thanks to a matching grant from the Black Hawk County Gaming Association.\u00a0 Team ownership has invested more than $250,000 in improvements since the end of the 2014 season including painted bleachers, public Wi-Fi, sound system, group outing areas, kids zone inflatables, and concessions equipment.\u00a0 Fans are encouraged to stay in touch with the Bucks by utilizing their website at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.waterloobucks.com\/\">www.waterloobucks.com<\/a> or utilizing the Northwoods League Mobile App.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"># # #<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>The Waterloo Bucks are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Now in its 25th anniversary season, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 20 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
