A tough first loss comes at the hands of the reigning 2025 Northwoods League Softball Champs, the Madison Nightmares.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Nightmares attacked early and often, scoring 4 in the first, 3 in the second, and 4 in the third.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The night saw a great putout with Sydney Spear <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(UW-Madison) <\/span>gunning down the runner at third to Riley Schwisow <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(Northwestern State) <\/span>to save a triple.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Quinn Marnocha <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(South Dakota State) <\/span>would notch the Ignite\u2019s first hit of the year.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>COMING UP NEXT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Ignite will return to Wausau for their home opener on Wednesday, June 11th at Athletic Park, with first pitch set for 6:35 p.m. against the Lacrosse Steam.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The first 250 fans to arrive at Athletic Park will receive an Opening Day Drawstring Bag presented by Wipfi.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">You can stay up to date with the Ignite by visiting ignitesoftball.com and catching all games live on Flo Sports or select games on All Women\u2019s Sports Network.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: center\">###<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: center\">Leveraging the 31-year success of the Northwoods League, the first for-profit Summer Collegiate Baseball League, Northwoods League Softball (NWLS) is the first for-profit Women\u2019s Summer Collegiate Softball League beginning play in the Upper Midwest in the summer of 2024. The purpose of the League will be to develop players for their college, Olympic and future professional play.
