Nick Loftin went 6-6 and Dom DeRenzo hit a pair of three-run homers to lift the Wisconsin Woodchucks over the Green Bay Bullfrogs 18-5 tonight at Athletic Park.<\/p>\n
After the Bullfrogs got a run in the top of the first, the Chucks came right back in the bottom half of the frame to tie the game at 1-1.\u00a0 Javier Valdes singled and came in to score on a groundout by Zach DeLoach.<\/p>\n
The Chucks scored four times in the third to take a 5-1 lead.\u00a0 DeLoach and Alex Toral singled, followed by a single from Loftin to score DeLoach.\u00a0 DeRenzo followed by sending a full count pitch over the left field wall for a three-run homer.<\/p>\n
The Bullfrogs scored twice in the top of the fourth to trim the Chucks\u2019 lead to 5-3.\u00a0 The Chucks got one run in the bottom of the inning to take a 6-3 advantage.\u00a0 Brandt Broussard led off with a double, advanced to third on a deep fly out by Valdes and just reached home before a throw from third on a chopper by Reese Alexiades.<\/p>\n
The Chucks\u2019 lead grew to 8-3 in the fifth as a two-out single from Payton Nelson scored Loftin and DeRenzo.\u00a0 The Bullfrogs got those two runs right back, scoring twice in the top of the sixth to pull within three at 8-5.<\/p>\n
For the third time tonight, the Chucks scored in the bottom of the same inning the Bullfrogs scored.\u00a0 Loftin singled to score Valdes and Alexiades.\u00a0 DeRenzo followed with his second three-run homer of the night, scoring both DeLoach and Loftin to give the Chucks a 13-5 lead.<\/p>\n
Five more runs crossed the plate in the seventh for the Chucks.\u00a0 DeLoach led off with a home run.\u00a0 Colton Bauer added an RBI-double and Broussard ripped a three-run homer to cap off the inning.<\/p>\n
