Woodchucks fall in tight game against Green Bay, 4-3<\/strong><\/p>\n

WAUSAU, WI \u2013 The Woodchucks were beaten in a close game against the Green Bay Booyah on Wednesday night, 4-3. The Chucks rallied to score two runs in the ninth inning, but were unable to overtake the Booyah.<\/p>\n

Wisconsin scored its first run in the bottom of the third inning. Myles Austin came in to score on an RBI fielder’s choice from Jeissy De La Cruz. That’s all the Chucks would get until the ninth inning, which they entered trailing 4-1. Adam Frank scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning with a single, but the Chucks would still fall 4-3.<\/p>\n

Matt Taylor went four innings in his start for the Woodchucks, and didn’t allow a run. He only let up three hits, and struck out six. Dathon McGrath entered after Taylor, and was given the loss. He allowed two runs over two innings, surrendering four hits. JD Shultz tossed a scoreless inning, and Jace Baumann was tagged for two runs over two innings.<\/p>\n

Matt Taylor went four innings in his shutout start for the Chucks, striking out six.<\/p>\n

Adam Frank was 1-4 in the game, but drove home two runs with a single.<\/p>\n

The Woodchucks will hit the road for three straight games, starting with Green Bay tomorrow. The Chucks will return home on Sunday with a day-long affair against Fond du Lac. Starting at 1:05, Wisconsin will play the remainder of a suspended game from July 2nd. That will be followed by a previously-scheduled game against the Dock Spiders.
