WILLMAR–On a gorgeous night for baseball, the Stingers dropped the second leg of a two game set with the Duluth Huskies 7-4 Sunday night at Bill Taunton Stadium.  The Stingers tallied 11 hits in total and every member of the Willmar lineup reached base at least once.  Leading the charge offensively for the Stingers was first baseman Andrew Haake.  The Nebraska- Kearney Loper was two for four with an RBI, raising his average to .300 on the year.<\/div>\n

Alcorn State sophomore lefty Cedric Pomerlee was steady in his Willmar debut, gettign a no-decision after going five innings allowing two unearned runs and striking out two.  For the second straight night it was the Huskies’ Cody Asche delivering the knockout punch for Duluth.  Asche had a two-run homer in Saturday night’s game and added a go ahead three-run shot in the top of the seventh Sunday to put the Huskies up for good.<\/div>\n

Stingers reliever Jayson Huett was tagged for the loss, giving up four earned in one and a third.  St. Cloud State righty Logan Birr impressed for the Stingers in Huett’s stead, striking out 2 in the final two and a third innings of the game.  Oglethorphe junior Sam Briend got the win for Duluth in his second appearance of the year.  With the loss, the Stingers drop to 1-3 on the year.<\/div>\n
