Mills Field in Brainerd, tossing the first complete game in Stingers history in a 7-2 win over the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers.&nbsp; The Georgia State junior gave up two runs, only one of them earned, on nine hits and struck out seven Lunkers to bump his record to 2-2 on the season.<\/p>\n<p>Willmar jumped out to an uncharacteristic early lead on Wednesday, scoring two runs in the top of the first off Brainerd starter Matt Florer.&nbsp; Carlos Leyva scored on an Eduardo Gonzalez sac fly and Isaac Ballou made it 2-0 after an RBI groundout by Nate Johnson.&nbsp; The big bat for Stingers, however, belonged to Jared Norris.&nbsp; The Oregon State Beaver doubled his season RBI total with a three hit night to move his average above the .300 mark for the first time this season.<\/p>\n<p>Next up for the 11-10 Stingers, it&#8217;s another in Brainerd on Thursday at 7:05 pm before returning home for a three game homestand beginning Friday with the finale of this three game set with the Lunkers.&nbsp; You won&#8217;t want to miss it as it&#8217;s Willmar Fests Night at Bill Taunton Stadium.&nbsp; The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm on Friday at the Bee Hive, but get there early as Willmar Fests candidates will compete all throughout the game to be crowned the Stingers Willmar Fests Champion.&nbsp; For tickets, call 320-222-2010 or visit willmarstingers.com for more information.&nbsp; Log on to wctrib.com for all the best in Stingers coverage.&nbsp; The 2010 season is presented by Charter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BRAINERD&#8211;There&#8217;s been a lot of firsts for the Stingers in their inaugural season already and scratch another one off the  [&#8230;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[33],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1105","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-team-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v26.5 (Yoast SEO v26.5) -
