\n\tWILLMAR, Minn. – The Stingers continued their early success at the plate against Thunder Bay, taking game two  with a 4-1 score.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tFor the second time in as many games, Quincy McAfee (Pepperdine) led off the game for the Stingers with a hit. This time, it was a double down the right field line to get in scoring position. He was then brought in by Nolan Bumstead (CSU-Northridge) for the Stingers’ first run of the game.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThey continued to manufacture runs in any way possible, bringing in a run on a double play in the second and another on a ground ball in the third. Also in that inning, Marcus McCorkle’s (Georgia Gwinnett) second triple of the season drove in a run.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tCorey Binger (Nebraska-Omaha) earned a win with his four-hit start on the hill. He gave up one earned run and struck out three in six innings.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tBefore the season, Eric Vasquez predicted the Stingers’ bullpen would be one of the strongest in the Northwoods League. They have been lights out so far, holding Thunder Bay hitless through six total innings over the first two games.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tNick Mears (Sac City) recorded the first Stingers’ save of the season, closing out the ballgame with two straight swinging strikeouts on 0-2 counts.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tMcAfee dazzled in the field and recorded two hits at the plate.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Stingers move to 2-0 on the season. They are 38-25 overall and 23-9 at home against Thunder Bay. They outscored the Border Cats 16-2 in the two-game series.\n<\/p>\n
