CLOUD, Minn.&nbsp;&mdash;The Willmar Stingers&#039; 2017 season came to a close Monday evening in St. Cloud, falling to the Rox 9-1 in the first round of the postseason.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIt was the fourth straight year they made&nbsp;the playoffs and the fifth time in the team&#039;s eight-year history they qualified.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThey are the winningest team in the Northwoods League this decade, amassing 335 total wins since 2010. That is the most of anyone in the league, as they average 41.75 wins per season.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Rox got ahead early by scoring seven runs in the first three innings. Nolan Bumstead (CS-Northridge) responded with a home run in the sixth inning. It was the eighth home run he hit in 2017 and his 55th RBI. He led the team in RBIs and started all 73 games this year at third base, which is a Northwoods League record.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tTyler Reichenborn (Iowa Western) went 3-for-4 at the plate. In addition, Justus Nelson (Missouri S&amp;T) also had multiple hits, going 2-for-4.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tNick Mears (Sac City) went 3 2\/3 scoreless innings, striking out six.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tToday&#039;s Center for Diagnostic Imaging player of the game was Nolan Bumstead.
