Hit, Run, Pitch competition to take place Sunday, August 16th<\/sup> <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. \u2013 The Rafters, in partnership with Team Matthew\u2019s Auto & Tire Center, NAPA Auto Parts, and State Farm \u2013 Kari Van Ert, are holding the first ever Rafters Baseball Triathlon. The competition will take place on Sunday, August 16th<\/sup> at 10:00am at Historic Witter Field. This event is free and is available to all boys and girls, ages 6 to 15.<\/p>\n

The overall competition will vary across age groups. The age groups are based on the child\u2019s age as of December 31, 2020. All participants will be required to show proof of age day of event.<\/p>\n

The competition will be scored on three categories: hit, run, and pitch. Each participant will be allowed three hits, one run, and ten pitches. Scores will be specific to each competition. \u00a0Once completed, the winner of each division will be awarded a trophy on field. One winner from each male and female age group will be selected.<\/p>\n

Participants must register online by Friday, August 14th<\/sup>. The registration form can be found HERE<\/a> or at the Rafters Ticket Office. In addition, all participants must fill out the waiver located below the registration form or at the Rafters Ticket Office to take part in the Baseball Triathlon.<\/p>\n

All rules and regulations for the Rafters Baseball Triathlon can be found at Raftersbaseball.com under the Special Events tab. The Rafters encourage all attendees to wear masks, as well as practice Social Distancing when at the ballpark. The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. The Northwoods League is the proven leader in the development of elite college baseball players. Having completed its\u2019 26th<\/sup>\u00a0season, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 22 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, over 230 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including three-time All-Star and 2016 Roberto Clemente Award winner Curtis Granderson, three-time Cy Young Award winner and World Series Champion Max Scherzer (WAS), two-time World Series Champions Ben Zobrist (CHC) and Brandon Crawford (SFG) and World Series Champion Chris Sale (BOS). As well as 2019 Rookie of the Year and Home Run Derby Champion Pete Alonso (NYM) and MLB All-Star Jordan Zimmermann (DET). All league games are viewable live via the Northwoods League website.
