Golden State Trio Sign with the Rafters for 2022\"\"<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters Welcome the California trio of pitchers Preston Howey, Cooper
\nRobinson, and Nathan Hemmerling.
\nHowey is entering his sophomore season at Saint Mary\u2019s College of California.\u00a0 He struck out 17
\nbatters while only walking 5 over 15.2 innings during his freshman season.\u00a0 During his high
\nschool career, Howey went 13-1 while fanning 86 batters with a 0.75 ERA.
\n\u201cI\u2019m most excited to go to a new state and share the field with the most talented players from
\nvarious colleges,\u201d said Howey. \u201cThe Northwoods League is a great league, and even though the
\ncompetition is tough, it always makes for a good game for the players and fans.\u00a0 I\u2019m excited to
\nplay for the Rafters and see what I can do this upcoming summer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cooper Robinson is currently a freshman at UC Irvine.\u00a0 He put together an impressive high
\nschool career as he was rated as a top 500 prospect in the nation by Perfect Game, including
\nbeing ranked as the 52 nd right-hander in the state of California.\u00a0 Robinson also capped off his high
\nschool career after being named the Folsom High School Pitcher of the Year.
\n\u201cIt\u2019s just an experience I wouldn\u2019t really have,\u201d said Robinson. \u201cI couldn\u2019t tell you that I would
\ngo to Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin if I wasn\u2019t playing summer league baseball there.\u00a0 It\u2019s a
\nchance to play with new guys in an environment that I haven\u2019t necessarily played in yet.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nathan Hemmerling is entering his junior season at Lakeland University.\u00a0 He had a stellar
\nsophomore campaign, including a one-hit complete game shutout against Edgewood College.
\nHemmerling is no stranger to the Rafters as he had a stellar year on the mound in 2021 as well.
\nHe was one of the best pitchers on the staff as he had a 3-0 record in 7 starts and 10 appearances
\noverall while striking out 39 and posting a 2.23 ERA.
\n\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to the great coaching staff that the Rafters have to help develop me like
\nthey\u2019ve been doing over the last three years,\u201d said Hemmerling.\u00a0 \u201cThe fans come out and support
\nus each and every home game, rain or shine, and show us so much appreciation and respect
\nwhether we\u2019re winning or losing.\u201d

\nagainst the Green Bay Rockers.<\/p>\n
