Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. \u2013 The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters name Chloe de Vries their fourth general manager in franchise history. De Vries rejoins the Rafters after spending three seasons with the organization. De Vries, 23, started her career with the Rafters in 2018 as a marketing intern and on-field emcee under current Green Bay Rockers Vice President and General Manager John Fanta\u2019s leadership. She fills the position that was vacated by former General Manager Andy Francis, the current Assistant General Manager with the South Bend Cubs.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are thrilled to have Chloe returning to the Rafters as our new general manger,\u201d Rafters\"\"Owner Vince Fonti stated. \u201cThe passion and love that she has for the Rafters and the City of Wisconsin Rapids is infectious. Chloe has proven herself over the past two years with her
\nprofessionalism and hard work and is ready to make this jump. I am so proud of her development and excited to see her lead the Rafters for many years.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI could not be more eager and honored to assume the role of general manager and follow in thefootsteps of some incredible mentors,\u201d de Vries stated. \u201cDuring my time in Rapids, the community has been so welcoming and their enthusiasm towards the team is what makes this position so rewarding. The success of this organization is based on this community, and I can\u2019t
\nwait to continue to put our best product on the field in 2022.\u201d<\/p>\n

De Vries graduated\u00a0from Chapman University in the spring of 2020 with a degree inCommunication Studies and a minor in Broadcast Journalism. During her time at Chapman, sheinterned with the Los Angeles Clippers for two seasons in the Public Relations department.
\nDe Vries servedas the Seasonal Marketing Manager for the 2020 Rafters season before assuming the role of the Marketing and Public Relations Manager heading into 2021. She joined Francis and Hannah Jurgens, becoming the first female dominated front office in Northwoods League
\nhistory. After the season, she left to return to her alma mater as the Assistant Sports Information Director before accepting the general manager position.<\/p>\n

\u201cChloe has a great can-do attitude, and she is continually striving to improve,\u201d Rafters Owner Joe Fonti exclaimed. \u201cOur team is in great shape with the hiring of Chloe as our general manager. We owed it to the great fans in the Wisconsin Rapids area to hire an excellent general manager to continue the tradition of strong organizational leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mark your calendars! The Rafters season and home opener is on Mon., May 30 at 6:35 p.m. against the Green Bay Rockers.<\/p>\n

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball
\nplayers, the Northwoods League. The Northwoods League is the proven leader in the development of
\nelite college baseball players. Having completed its\u2019 27th season, the Northwoods League is the largest
\norganized baseball league in the world with 22 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly
\nballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and
\nfront office staff, over 245 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball,
\nincluding three-time All-Star and 2016 Roberto Clemente Award winner Curtis Granderson, three-time Cy
\nYoung Award winner and World Series Champion Max Scherzer (WAS), two-time World Series Champions
\nBen Zobrist (CHC) and Brandon Crawford (SFG) and World Series Champion Chris Sale (BOS). As well as
\n2019 Rookie of the Year and Home Run Derby Champion Pete Alonso (NYM) and MLB All-Star Jordan
