WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis – The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters would like to welcome a pair of sophomore pitchers, left-hander Ben Adams and right-hander Creighton Hansen.<\/div>\n

\"\"Adams is playing his sophomore season at St. John\u2019s University.\u00a0 He is a native of Ottawa, Ontario. Adams was ranked as the sixth-best pitching prospect in Ontario by Perfect Game in the 2020 class.\u00a0 He has only made one start thus far in 2022, as he pitched 4.0 innings, giving up four hits, one earned run, and striking out two against Middle Tennessee State University.\u00a0 Adams was an honor roll student in\u00a0high school and his favorite athlete is Justin Verlander.<\/div>\n

\u201cI am looking forward to playing against good competition and seeing what the environment will be like in Wisconsin Rapids,\u201d said Adams. \u201cMy time at college has taught me that you need to trust the process. Things come easier to some people, but if you continue to work hard, it will pay off.\u201d<\/div>\n

Creighton Hansen is a sophomore at Wichita State University.\u00a0 He is a native of Grapevine, Texas.\u00a0 Out of high school, Hansen was ranked as the 80th best right-handed pitcher in Texas by Perfect Game.\u00a0 In 2021, he threw 11.2 innings over eight appearances.\u00a0 Hansen won a state championship in baseball as a junior and senior, as well as being named academic all-state as a senior.<\/div>\n

\u201cI look forward to getting a taste of what it\u2019s like to play pro ball. The schedule is as close as it gets to playing an MLB\/MiLB schedule at this level,\u201d said Hansen. \u201cNobody is going to feel 100% every time they’re out there, but I feel well equipped to go out there and get it done. I\u2019m super excited to see some fans in the stands for summer games and have some energy from the fans.\u201d<\/div>\n
