\n\tHohl Returns To Help Coach The Rafters<\/em>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWisconsin Rapids, Wis. – Brandon Hohl is a name that few Rafters fans will forget, as he played here in Wisconsin Rapids in 2011 and in 2012. Hohl played infield for the Rafters in his two seasons and was a .254 batter for his Northwoods League career. During his time in Wisconsin Rapids Hohl was able to set a couple team records.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIn 2012 Hohl set the Rafters record for most games played by playing in all 70 games that season. Also in 2012 Hohl set the record for most walks in a season by drawing 49 walks. Hohl has since graduated from the University of Illinois, where he ended up ninth on the Illini all-time hit list with 211 hits.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIn 2013 for the Illini Hohl hit .266 in his senior season with three home runs, 28 runs and 35 RBI in 55 games and drew 27 walks for the third season in a row, which tied for eighth in the Big Ten, once again showing his great eye at the plate.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThis past year Hohl spent some time playing some independent baseball as he has played some games for the Windy City Thunderbolts, an independent team that is based out of the Chicago area and is a part of the Frontier League.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tCome see Brandon Hohl coach first base for the Rafters as they take on the Kenosha Kingfish today at 3:05pm. There will also be plenty of chances to see Brandon Hohl in the future as the Rafters have six straight home games after today.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Wisconsin Rapids Rafters are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Playing its 21st season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 115 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award Winner Max Scherzer (DET) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Allen Craig (STL) and Ben Zobrist (TB).
