\n\tMazza To Try And Lower Team Best ERA<\/em>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWisconsin Rapids, Wis. – With only four home games left on the season  the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (11-21, 23-44) will try and end the season on a high note here at Witter Field as tonight they take on the Battle Creek Bombers (15-17, 31-36). The Bombers won the first game of this two game set by a score of 11-6 on Monday night. The Rafters will be looking to rebound from that loss and also snap a three game losing streak.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe starting pitcher tonight for the Rafters will be crafty left handed pitcher Domenic Mazza (1-2, UC Santa Barbara). Mazza has been lights out this season as he has an ERA of 1.18 in 38 innings pitched and has struck out 44 compared to only walking 18 batters. Mazza is coming off a five inning outing against Eau Claire where he did not pick up a decision and gave up two runs while walking four and striking out six.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Rafters bats will look to stay hot against this Bomber’s pitching staff just as on Monday night when they put up six runs on 10 hits. Nick Unes (UW-Milwaukee) has found a groove as of late as in his last three games he is batting a cool .500 with two doubles and two RBIs. Zack Domingues (Long Beach State) has also helped carry this Rafters offense as he has safely reached base in 12 consecutive games and he is towards the top of the Northwoods League in batting average and on base percentage, with respective numbers of .375 and .500.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe gates will open to Witter Field tonight at 6:05pm as it is a 7:05pm scheduled start time for the game. Also tonight, Element Mobile presents the ZOOperstars who make their much anticipated second trip to Witter Field this summer.\n<\/p>\n
