\n\t1,023,970 fans have attended Northwoods League games in 2014<\/em>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tRochester, Minn. – Following the games on August 6, the Northwoods League has become the first summer-collegiate league to draw over one million fans for a season.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t“This is a huge milestone for the Northwoods League and summer-collegiate baseball,” said Northwoods League President Dick Radatz, Jr. “It’s another first for the Northwoods League.”\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThis number tops the 2012 season when 945,861 fans came through Northwoods League ballparks.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Madison Mallards continue to lead all of summer-collegiate baseball in attendance and drew 214,849 fans this season for an average of 6,139 per game.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Northwoods League is the proven leader in the development of elite college baseball players. The 20-year old summer collegiate league is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, 120 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (DET) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Allen Craig (STL) and Ben Zobrist (TB).
