\n\tWisconsin Rapids, Wis. – <\/strong>On Jockey Being Family Superhero Night at Witter Field, the Rafters will hope to play like the Superheros on their uniforms as they look to end a three-game losing streak when they face the Battle Creek Bombers. The Rafters will be sporting superhero jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game. All kids in superhero costumes will get into the game for free.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWisconsin Rapids is 2-0 so far this season against the Bombers with both wins coming in a doubleheader at Witter Field on June 12. The Rafters picked up the win in game one in walk-off fashion, 7-6, overcoming a four-run deficit to win on an infield single by Zack Domingues, scoring Jonah Bride. Game two saw Wisconsin Rapids squeak out a 4-3 victory after taking an early 3-0 lead.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tLast night the Rafters fell to the Kenosha Kingfish, 13-10. The Kingfish scored 11 runs in the first two innings before the Rafters’ bats came alive and Wisconsin Rapids nearly pulled off the comeback, outscoring Kenosha 7-2 over the final seven innings.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tOn the rubber tonight for the Rafters will be West Boylston, Mass. native, Jack Riley. The UConn pitcher has made three appearances for the Rafters, two of which were starts, and compiled a 1-0 record with a 1.31 ERA. The lefty’s last start came against Kalamazoo on June 14, throwing 3.2 innings scoreless innings, allow just three hits in a 5-0 Rafters win.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Wisconsin Rapids Rafters are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Playing its 22nd season of summer collegiate baseball in 2015, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 120 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Lucas Duda (NYM) and Ben Zobrist (OAK).
