\n\tRafters Finish Up Road Trip in Madison<\/u><\/strong>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tRafters look to end Mallards 7 game winning streak<\/em>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tMadison, Wis- Wisconsin Rapids aims to notch their first win of this three game road trip when they play at Warner Park this evening. The Mallards come into the game as one of the hottest teams in the Northwoods League, and with the recent sweep of Kenosha are now two games out of first place in the South division. The Rafters enter the game in sixth place in the South division.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Rafters have Brian Russell (College of Staten Island) on the mound tonight. Russell is 1-0 this summer with a 3.91 ERA. In his last start on June 16th<\/sup> against Lakeshore, he went six innings and allowed three hits while also striking out three. The accounting major hopes to account for the first win against Madison this season. The Mallards swept the Rafters in their first series of the season.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Wisconsin Rapids Rafters are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Playing its 22nd season of summer collegiate baseball in 2015, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 120 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Lucas Duda (NYM) and Ben Zobrist (OAK).
