\n\tA win on Friday night would earn Wisconsin Rapids a series and season split with Lakeshore<\/em>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin –<\/strong> The Rafters will seek a series and season split with the reigning Northwoods League Champion Lakeshore Chinooks on Friday night at Witter Field. After Thursday night, the Chinooks hold a 4-3 edge over the Rafters in the season series.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tLast night, the Rafters fell 5-2 to the Lakeshore Chinooks on Thursday night at Witter Field. Wisconsin Rapids scored all of their runs via the home run but it wasn’t enough to overcome the early Chinooks lead. Lakeshore did the majority of their damage in the first on a home run by outfielder Jack Benninghoff (Arkansas). Bryce Jordan (LSU) and Scotty Wright (North Florida) responded with home runs of their own, but it was all the Rafters could muster off the Chinooks pitching staff.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tBryce Jordan has been a catalyst for the Wisconsin Rapids offense lately, hitting .368 over his last five games, including a pair of home runs, five runs scored and three RBI.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tOriginally scheduled to start last night, the Rafters will hand the ball to right-handed pitcher Jay Peters tonight. The UW-Milwaukee commit is 3-1 on the summer with an impressive 2.04 ERA over 22 innings. The Randolph, Wisconsin native has 26 strike outs and just four walks in his four starts and has picked up the win in his last three outings.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tTonight is Schierl Tire & Service Night at Witter Field, benefitting the Boys & Girls Club. Fans will be entertained by a special performance by Rally throughout the game and the Klement’s Racing Sausages will be on hand. As it is on every Friday, t0night will be a Point Special Working Man’s Friday. The Working Man Ticket Package is $11 and includes two 16oz cans of Point Special, two hot dogs and a bleacher ticket to the game. Gates open at 6:05 p.m. with first pitch coming at 7:05.\n<\/p>\n

Playing its 22nd season of summer collegiate baseball in 2015, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 120 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Lucas Duda (NYM) and Ben Zobrist (OAK).
