\n\tWisconsin Rapids, Wis.<\/em>– It’s opening week in the Northwoods League, presented by Edvest. After a 13-3 drubbing of the Wisconsin Woodchucks (1-2) last night, the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (2-1) will look to extend their current two-game winning streak to three as they travel to Wausau.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIn last night’s game, <\/span>Jake Lumley<\/span><\/a><\/strong> <\/strong>(Canisius)<\/span> continued his hot hitting by going 4 for 5 with 2 RBIs. Plenty of other Rafters joined in on the hit parade, including 2 RBIs from Dustin Woodcock<\/strong><\/span><\/a> (SIU-Edwardsville)<\/span> and 3 from Patrick Cromwell<\/span><\/a> <\/strong>(Santa Ana College)<\/span>. Logan Mattix<\/span><\/a> <\/strong>(Georgia College) <\/span>also hit his first homerun of the season in the victory.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tPitching has been strong for the Rafters so far in this short season, and the lanky right-hander Vinny Santarsiero<\/strong><\/span><\/a> will take the mound for the Rats in hopes of continuing that string of quality starts. Standing at a 6’8”, the DIII collegiate pitcher from Fontbonne University will make just his first Northwoods League start.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Woodchucks pitcher for tonight’s game is still to be determined. After two straight loses, Wisconsin is hoping to get back on track with a win and break their two-game losing streak.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tTonight’s first pitch is slated for 7:05 PM with the gates opening at 6:05 PM.\n<\/p>\n
