\n\tOffense hopes to re-emerge after quiet series opener<\/i>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThunder Bay, Ont. – The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (33-18) will conclude their brief two-game swing north of the border on Sunday with their fourth meeting of the season with the Thunder Bay Border Cats (12-37). The Rafters enter play having host two-of-three games since the All-Star Break, including a heartbreaking 2-1 loss on Saturday night at Tbaytel Park, their first extra-inning defeat of the summer.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile the Border Cats have yet to officially announce their starting pitcher for Sunday evening’s tilt, the Rafters are expected to tab right-hander Jay Peters<\/strong> (UW-Milwaukee). Peters, who has not pitched since before the All-Star Break. In his most recent outing, Peters endured early struggles against the Green Bay Bullfrogs before settling in and working through six innings in a losing effort.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe evening’s action will mark the sixth interdivisional matchup involving the Rafters this season, with the Rafters currently owning a 3-2 mark in such games. First pitch at Tbaytel Park is slated for 5:05 PM local time (4:05 PM Central) with coverage beginning on WFHR 1320 AM 15 minutes prior to first pitch.\n<\/p>\n

Playing its 23rd season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
