\n\tNorthwoods League Announces All-Star Home-Run Derby Participants <\/u><\/strong>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tNine inning competition will feature the top home-run hitters, including three Rafters<\/em>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWisconsin Rapids, Wis. – The Northwoods League has announced the participants for the 2017 All-Star Game Home-Run Derby which will take place before the Northwoods League All-Star Game in Wausau, Wisconsin on Tuesday, July 18 at 5:00 p.m. (CST). The Rafters have franchise-record three players selected to participate in the derby.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tInfielder Christian Jones <\/strong>headlines the Rafters and the South Division, swatting the most home-runs by any South player this season with 12. He trails only Zach Zubia of Rochester (14) for the most homers in the league this year. Jones has five home-runs that have tied or given the Rafters a lead in a game this season.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tA pair of All-Star outfielders for the Rafters are set to participate as well, as Dustin Woodcock<\/strong> (six) and Jake Guenther<\/strong> (5) join Jones at the derby. In a recent game against Kenosha on July 9th<\/sup>, Guenther blasted two homers, including a grand slam to help solidify his spot in the festivities. Woodcock belted his sixth homer of the year in Lakeshore last week.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

\n\tThe format for the Home-Run Derby:\n<\/p>\n

  1. \n\t\tThere will be 9 innings with each player having one half inning.<\/p>\n

    \n\t\t\t \n\t\t<\/p>\n

    \n\t\t\t \n\t\t<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. \n\t\t\t\tAny team (North) player bats first in the top of the inning, and home team player next (South) in the bottom of the inning.<\/p>\n

      \n\t\t\t\t\t \n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

      \n\t\t\t\t\t \n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

      \n\t\t\t\t\tEach player will have one half inning at bat that will consist of six outs.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n

    2. \n\t\tThe player with the most home-runs at the end of the nine innings will be the Home-Run Derby Winner.\n\t<\/li>\n
    3. \n\t\tThe team (North or South) with the most home-runs will be announced as the winner of the team competition.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
