Wisconsin Rapids looks for a third split of the season with Fond du Lac \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. \u2013 The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (17-21, 2-1 2nd<\/sup> half) are aiming for their third series split with the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (22-16, 1-2 2nd<\/sup> half). Tonight\u2019s game will be the final game at Herr-Baker Field for the Rafters in the 2018 regular season. Last night, Wisconsin Rapids saw a three-run lead be erased in the fifth. The Dock Spiders scored four times on four hits and held on to the one-run lead the rest of the way 5-4.<\/p>\n

Matt Schmidt (Michigan) delivered a two-run double to give the Rafters a lead in the fourth, while Andrew Bullock\u2019s two-run single in the fifth for the Dock Spiders proved the difference.<\/p>\n

The Rafters will send Tyler Giovinco (1-0, 4.50 ERA) to the mound tonight. This is Giovinco\u2019s second start of the year. His first start came against Kenosha at Witter Field on July 1st<\/sup>. The lefty from Army West Point threw four innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits.<\/p>\n

Fond du Lac will counter with Jon Mierzwa (0-2, 5.40 ERA). The righty from Catholic University is still looking for his first win making his sixth start of the year. In 21.2 innings pitched, Mierzwa has struck out 25, walked seven and allowed 13 runs on 22 hits.<\/p>\n
