Two Lefties from Kent State University Joining the Woodchucks

Wausau, WIS- The Woodchucks announced the addition of two players from Kent State University today. Jared Skolnicki and Eli Kraus will both play for the Woodchucks during the 2015 season.

Jared Skolnicki, returning to the Woodchucks after an impressive late season run in 2014, is a 6’2 sophomore left-handed pitcher from Pittsburgh, PA. Skolnicki has an ERA of 2.11, 16 strikeouts, only 4 walks and is credited with 2 wins for Kent State so far in 2015. Woodchucks GM Ryan Treu says, “We are excited to have Jared back this season, he pitched really well late last season on our playoff run.”

Eli Kraus is a 6’1 freshman left-handed pitcher from Medina, Ohio. Kraus went 18-6 in his high school career with a 1.5 ERA and 300 strike outs. He was named All-State, All-District, All-County and All-Conference as a senior.

“The Woodchucks have developed a good relationship with Kent State baseball and its coaching staff. The players they have sent us have been first class,” says Treu.

The WISCONSIN WOODCHUCKS Home Opener is Friday, May 29th in the newly renovated Athletic Park with Post Game Fireworks presented by Ministry Health Care. Single game ticket will go on sale in April for the 2015 season.
