Woodchucks Add Two Returning Players to 2015 Roster

Wausau, WIS- The Woodchucks announce that UW – LaCrosse Outfielder Taylor Kohlwey and University of Missouri Shortstop Ryan Howard will both be back in Wausau for the 2015 season.

Taylor Kohlwey, a junior from Holmen, WI, will return for his second season with the Woodchucks. Kohlwey has started all 10 games for the Eagles earning a batting average of .475 with 2 home runs, 9 rbi’s and is fielding 1.000. Just this past weekend Kohlwey had his 37-game hitting streak snapped in the opener as he finished 0-for-3 with a walk.  His 37-game hitting streak tied the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) set by UW-Stout's Brad O'Connell from 2000-01. Kohlwey had a batting average of .271 with 3 rbi’s last year with the Woodchucks.

Ryan Howard, a 6’1 sophomore from St. Charles, MO is also returning for his second season with the Woodchucks. Howard is fielding .968, has a batting average of .267 with 18 rbi’s and an on base percentage of .373. While with the Woodchucks last year Howard had a batting average of .259 with 19 rbi’s.

The WISCONSIN WOODCHUCKS Home Opener is Friday, May 29th in the newly renovated Athletic Park with Post Game Fireworks presented by Ministry Health Care. Single game ticket will go on sale in April for the 2015 season.
