Wausau, WIS- Devin Skapura shut down the Kenosha Kingfish for the first six innings Sunday, but the Wisconsin Woodchucks gave up a total of five runs in the seventh and eighth innings to lose 5-1 at Simmons Field.

Owen Taylor hit a solo home run down the left field line in the sixth, so Skapura came to the mound with a 1-0 lead in the seventh.

However, Skapura gave up a leadoff double before being pulled from the game, and the Kingfish took a lead with two runs in the frame. Skapura gave up just three hits and one run in six innings on the bump for the Chucks.

Kenosha would broaden their lead to 5-1 with three runs in the eighth, and they would hold on to that lead by shutting down the Chucks in the ninth.

Outside the Taylor home run, the Chucks recorded three hits in the ballgame, all singles. Jared Oliva, Al Molina and Connor Heady each had a base knock.

Wisconsin heads back home now, and they will play a doubleheader starting at 5:05 p.m. tomorrow with the Green Bay Bullfrogs.
