Wausau, WIS- The Wisconsin Woodchucks got seven hits Saturday, but they were shut out by the Kenosha Kingfish 9-0 at Simmons Field.

The Chucks suffered from untimely hitting against the Kingfish as they left nine on base and stranded five in scoring position. The Woodchucks were also tagged out at third twice in the loss.

Wisconsin faced an early deficit as Kenosha scored one run in the first inning and two in the second to grab an early 3-0 lead. Bobby Sheppard accounted for two of those runs, plating Brody Westmoreland with an RBI double and then scoring himself on a groundout from Zack Weigel.

The Kingfish scored three more runs in the sixth. Sheppard and Mitch Gasbarro hit back-to-back singles, and Alex Borglin would knock two home with an RBI double, extending the lead to 7-0.

LJ Hatch and Keenan Eaton both recorded extra base hits, with a pair of doubles, and Jared Oliva got two base knocks in the contest.

The Woodchucks and Kingfish will face off again tomorrow at Simmons Field with first pitch occurring at 3:05 p.m.
