Wausau, WIS – Devin Skapura led the Wisconsin Woodchucks to a 6-0 win at Athletic Park Tuesday with a masterful eight and two third inning start against the Kenosha Kingfish.

Skapura gave up just four hits and one walk while striking out seven. The phenomenal start earned Skapura his first victory of the season. Chance Simpson came in to record the final out in the ninth and seal the win.

Northwoods League All-Star Game selection Albee Weiss extended his team-leading home run total to eight with a two-run bomb down the left field line. The homer scored Yusuke Akitoshi, who had reached on a single.

Wisconsin doubled their lead in the seventh inning. Five walks led to two runs for the Chucks. Both Taylor Kohlwey and Keenan Eaton crossed to make it 4-0.

More walks in the eighth inning helped the Woodchucks extend the lead further. Kohlwey drew a base on balls, and Eaton was hit by a pitch. They both scored for the second time on the night on a two-RBI single from Owen Taylor.

The Woodchucks will go for the sweep of the Kingfish tomorrow night at Athletic Park at 6:35 p.m.
