Wausau, WIS – The Wisconsin Woodchucks announced the Promotional Schedule today for the 25th anniversary season. The Woodchucks are ready to celebrate 25 seasons with some new, exciting promotions as well as some fan favorites!
Bobbleheads
The Woodchucks will have four bobblehead giveaways in 2018. On June 7th, the first 1000 fans will receive a Star Wars Woody Trooper Bobblehead, presented by Culligan Water Systems. On June 17th, a Paint Your Own Woody Bobblehead presented by Ascension will be given to the first 1000 fans complete with a paint set and brush. The third bobblehead of 2018 will be a Stevie Pointer Bobblehead, presented by UW-Stevens Point, and will be given to the first 1000 fans who attend the game on June 23rd. On July 17th, the first 1000 fans will receive a 25th Anniversary Woody Bobblehead presented by RAM Truck and Brickner Family Auto Group.
Fireworks Series
The Woodchucks will light up the sky with ten spectacular fireworks shows this season. Fans can enjoy fireworks during opening weekend on June 2nd with 1994 Mixtape Fireworks presented by the Wisconsin Woodchucks, June 8th with One Hit Wonders Fireworks presented by Wipfli CPA’s & Consultants, June 16th with 90’s Throwback Country Fireworks presented by Cellcom, June 22nd with Justin Timberlake Fireworks presented by Time Federal Savings Bank, June 29th with 80’s Night Fireworks presented by North Star Mohican Casino Resort, and June 30th with Fireworks presented by Trig’s. When the Woodchucks are away, we are still having a party on the 4th of July with the Red, White and BOOM Festival featuring The Spicy Tie Band and Fireworks presented by Ascension. The Fireworks Series continues on July 20th with The Glow Show Fireworks presented by Wisconsin Chevy Dealers, July 28th with The Greatest Showman Fireworks presented by Hovda-Kristo Orthodontic Specialists, and August 4th with Florida Georgia Line Fireworks presented by Cellcom.
Giveaways
In addition to the four bobblehead giveaway nights, fans can expect additional giveaways throughout the season, including an inflatable bat giveaway to the first 800 fans on July 29th, presented by Cost Cutters and The Barbers Family Hairstyling, a mini bat giveaway for the first 500 fans on July 11th, presented by Cellcom, and a team poster giveaway presented by Sun Printing on August 8th. On opening night on May 29th, the first 250 fans will receive a Woodchucks baseball hat. More Woodchucks baseball hat giveaways will occur on June 3rd, July 10th, and August 6th.
Theme Nights & Appearances
This year the Woodchucks 2018 schedule includes many theme nights & entertainment acts! We’re kicking off our 25th anniversary season with a Throwback Weekend on June 2nd and June 3rd. The Woodchucks will wear retro throwback jerseys from the inaugural 1994 season. On July 10th, celebrate Christmas Vacation in July Night at Athletic Park with the Woodchucks wearing ugly sweater jerseys. Princesses at the Park will return on August 5th with princesses Rapunzel, Ariel and Tiana making an appearance. Last, in honor of the 10th anniversary of the movie, the Woodchucks will host a Step Brothers Catalina Wine Mixer Night on August 6th.
Entertainment acts at Athletic Park this year are the World Famous ZOOperstars on June 21st, presented by Rib Mountain Paper, the Flying Houndz Frizbee Trick Dog Show for both of the double-header games on June 27th, and Rally Entertainment on July 19th. New this year, professional wrestler Road Warrior Animal will make an appearance on July 18th presented by Miller Lite.
Back for second year, the Wisconsin Woodchucks will host Local Heroes Day with a charity police vs. fire softball game honoring Detective Weiland on July 8th. Also returning is Faith and Family Day on June 24th presented by Yach’s Body & Custom Inc. and Grebe’s. Other notable nights include the Sixth Annual Eat-A-Palooza on July 9th, Marshfield Clinic Children’s Hospital Night with a jersey auction on July 26th, Hooray for Bowling Night presented by Dale’s Weston Lanes on August 4th, and Crystal Finishing & JDRF Night on August 9th.
New for the 2018 season is Bourbon Night on June 16th. Sample bourbon and whiskey on the Ascension Terrace and enjoy an all-you-care-to-eat food buffet during the game.
