Woodchucks Bats Go Quiet In Loss To Dock Spiders
Wausau, WIS – The Woodchucks came into Athletic Park looking for their fourth straight win. They were not able to get the bats going as the Fond Du Lac Dock Spiders pitching combination of John Mierzwa, Austin Wagner, Carter Brown and Nate Thomas shut out the Woodchucks bats in a 4-0 loss.
Chucks starting pitcher Alec Abdalah did a nice job bouncing back from a three run second inning pitching four scoreless innings.
Though the bats could not get going, the Chucks bullpen stayed hot as newcomers Zach De La Garza and Branson Hall did a nice job to keep the game close.
Chucks first basemen Alex Toral had another solid day at the plate with two hits to push his average to an impressive .375 in his first four games.
Woodchuck reliever Zach De La Garza had a very nice debut throwing two innings, striking out three. His college teammate Branson Hall did a nice job as well also in his debut throwing one scoreless inning in the top of the 9thand keeping the game within reach.
