Wausau, WIS – The Woodchucks came into tonight’s game back at Athletic Park looking for the sweep against the Rockford Rivets and looking to win their sixth in the last eight games. It was a pitcher’s duel throughout led by the starters for both sides but the Chucks held on for the tight 2-1 win.

The Chucks struck first in the bottom of the 2nd inning with an RBI groundout from Zach DeLoach.

Woodchucks starter Greg Dunham was simply sensational on the mound having a no hitter into the seventh inning. Dunham went seven scoreless innings striking out eight and allowing just one hit.

Chucks centerfielder Jaren Shelby added a big insurance run in the bottom of the 6th inning with an RBI single making it 2-0 Chucks.

The Rivets answered with a run in the top of the 8th inning but Chucks closer Lenny Gwizdala shut the door down in the top of the 9th, securing his seventh save of the season. Gwizdala is now a perfect 7/7 on save opportunities.
