MANKATO, MN – Freshman outfielder Madelyn Birling is the latest addition to the Habaneros roster as the start of the season is only 13 days out. The excitement has been continuing to build as the season draws near and the roster continues to fill.
Throughout her first season at Bryant and Stratton College, Birling has already proved herself to be a strong force in the lineup. With only 46 games under her belt, she has 47 runs, a .367 batting average, an on-base percentage of .441, and a slugging percentage of .547. Defensively, Birling demonstrated reliability with 24 putouts and a solid .903 fielding percentage. Her quick reflexes, strong arm, and keen game sense make her a valuable asset behind the plate.

Leveraging the 30-year success of the Northwoods League, the first for-profit Summer Collegiate Baseball League, Northwoods League Softball (NWLS) will be the first for-profit Women’s Summer Collegiate Softball League beginning play in the Upper Midwest in the summer of 2024. The purpose of the League will be to develop players for their college, Olympic and future professional play. Teams will be promoted similar to minor league baseball teams, playing games in front of fans in a fun, friendly, family-oriented environment.
