MANKATO, MN – What a dominant series sweep from the Habaneros as now they not only extend their winning streak to 7 games but pull away in the standings with a 10-2 record. With the first game ending in another walk-off victory 6-5, the Habaneros were just as impressive as they only needed 5 innings to win 13-3 in the second game.

Paige Zender (Iowa State) stole the show in the first game as she tallied 2 home runs, now bringing her to 4 on the season and leading in the league.

Defensively, Savannah Teale (Kentucky State University) stood out with 6 putouts and a fielding percentage of .857 for the game. In total, the Habaneros had a total of 21 putouts and 4 assists.

With that being back-to-back walk-off wins, the second game of the doubleheader was looking quite promising, and it delivered.

Serena Timmer (University of Minnesota-Duluth) wowed early on with a grand slam to put the Habaneros up 11-0 before heading into the third. That wasn’t all, as she added 2 more runs to that, making her the player of the game.

The entire lineup brought a tally to the scoreboard as all 9 batters produced a run on the night. Defensively, it was another great showing as the team had a total of 15 putouts and 7 assists.

Sailor Hall (Kirkwood Community College) held down the mound, allowing only 3 runs with a total of 25 batters faced. She had 3 strikeouts and ended the night with a 1.40 ERA.

After quite the impressive showing at home, the Habaneros will look to keep their win streak alive as they head to Minot for back-to-back doubleheaders Monday and Tuesday.
