Savannah Teale, a freshman at Kentucky State University, is looking to bring her skills back to the Northwoods. Teale, a graduate from Hortonville High School in Wisconsin grew up in Northwoods League territory landing in the middle of two Great Lakes franchises of Green Bay and Fond Du Lac.

As a freshman who has started in 26 games this season, she has put up significant numbers on both offense and defense. In those games she has a batting average of .351, 10 runs, 2 doubles, and 2 triples. She also has a slugging percentage of .439 and an on base percentage of .391. On defense as a first baseman she has 107 putouts, along with 11 assists, and a fielding percentage of .994 leading the SIAC.

As we inch closer to the first pitch of our inaugural season the insertion of Savannah’s talent to the team continues to build excitement for the season.

Leveraging the 30-year success of the Northwoods League, the first for-profit Summer Collegiate Baseball League, Northwoods League Softball (NWLS) will be the first for-profit Women’s Summer Collegiate Softball League beginning play in the Upper Midwest in the summer of 2024.  The purpose of the League will be to develop players for their college, Olympic and future professional play.  Teams will be promoted similar to minor league baseball teams, playing games in front of fans in a fun, friendly, family-oriented environment.
