MANKATO, MN – Going into the 7th inning, the Habaneros were leading the Steam 3-2 then a standout performance from the plate gave them the 11-2 win. After a tough loss the previous night, this win was much needed for the days ahead as the Habaneros have a 4-game slate.
Three different players brought in 2 runs and five different brought in 1 run. It was a full effort from the entire lineup today as all but two players brought something to the scoreboard.
Sailor Hall (Kirkwood Community College) started on the mound earning her first win for the Habaneros. She etched 5 strikeouts, only allowed 2 runs, and posted a 1.40 ERA. Riley Stiles (Rock Valley College) finished out the game on the mound.
The Habaneros are now tied for first in the standings alongside the Night Mares as they look to come out alone on top over the next 4 games. Tomorrow’s game is another battle against the Steam in La Crosse.
