MANKATO, MN – The Habaneros have quite the impressive showing in La Crosse as they add 4 more wins to their record. After a 6-3 win today, they will look to come back to Mankato and keep their winning streak alive as they face the Night Mares.

Jayme Scheck (Drake University) earned her second win on the mound as she finished out the game strong with 5 strikeouts and a 3.96 ERA.

It was another notable day at the plate for Sailor Hall (Kirkwood Community College) as she brought in 3 runs alongside a double and a triple. Indigo Fish (University of Wisconsin-Superior) also brought in a double to add to the Habaneros lead and to secure the win against the Steam.

The Habaneros’ impressive performance in La Crosse highlights their determination and skill, setting a high bar for their upcoming games. With Jayme Scheck’s solid pitching and Sailor Hall’s powerful hitting, the team continues to showcase their talent and teamwork.

As they return to Mankato to face the Night Mares for the first time this season, the Habaneros are looking to extend their winning streak, driven by their recent success and momentum.

Leveraging the 30-year success of the Northwoods League, the first for-profit Summer Collegiate Baseball League, Northwoods League Softball (NWLS) will be the first for-profit Women’s Summer Collegiate Softball League beginning play in the Upper Midwest in the summer of 2024.  The purpose of the League will be to develop players for their college, Olympic and future professional play.  Teams will be promoted similar to minor league baseball teams, playing games in front of fans in a fun, friendly, family-oriented environment.
